EIOPA Conference 2023: Hidden risks and new horizons

In recent years, Europe has seen a series of crises: from COVID-19, climate change, geopolitical conflict, to the rising cost of living. Is the Europe – and even the world – moving from one crisis to another?

When do crises stop being crises and become the norm? What are the fundamental shifts that are happening in the economy and society and what do they mean for the insurance and pensions sectors? What are the new risks, what are the hidden risks and, equally important, what are the new horizons?

The EIOPA Conference 2023 looks beyond the current state of flux to consider supervision in a world with daily new dynamics, a world of horizontal regulation, and one in which new media creates movements that are not always in economic models.

The conference attracts policy makers, supervisors, as well as insurance and pension industry representatives from across Europe and the world. The conference is highly regarded by this audience for its discussion on topical issues and networking opportunities, and attracts journalists from national and international specialist media outlets.

The conference will include the following three sessions:

  • Supervision in the age of horizontal regulation
  • Exploring the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA)
  • Closing protection gaps
