Dario Focarelli is Director General of ANIA (Italian Association of insurance firms) and Member of the Executive Committee of Insurance Europe.
Prior he was Director of the Economics and Finance Dept and Chief Economist of ANIA and Deputy Director within the Bank of Italy Research Dept. He was Member of the Advisory Scientific Committee of the ESRB, member of the Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group of the EIOPA, and of the Consultative Panel of experts from the insurance industry, and users and consumers (CEIOPS).
He has a degree cum laude and a Ph.D. in Statistics and Actuarial Sciences at "La Sapienza" University, Rome and is Visiting Professor at Catholic University, Milan. He is also Senior Fellow of LUISS SEP (School of European Political Economy) in Rome. He published in the American Economic Review, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Business, the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, the Journal of Banking and Finance.
