Joining EIOPA gives you the opportunity to make an impact for European citizens.
We offer an enriching professional experience, with opportunities to grow and develop as well as a competitive remuneration package, along with benefits and allowances for you and your family members.
Take a look at what we have to offer!
Competitive salary
The primary component of the pay is the basic monthly salary.
- You can refer to the official basic salary grids for all grades and type of contracts to find out more about the basic salary you can expect.
The basic salary is weighted by a correction coefficient to adjust it to the cost of living compared to Brussels.
Taxes on salaries, allowances and benefits are paid to the European Communities instead of the national tax authorities.
As each case is different, your final salary will be determined at recruitment based on your specific situation.
EIOPA’s conditions of employment of staff are based on the rules, principles and working conditions of the Staff Regulations and Conditions of Employments of Other Servants.
Allowances

Depending on your personal situation and the place of origin, you may be entitled to various allowances:
• expatriation allowance (16% of the basic salary)
• household allowance
• dependent child allowance
• education allowance
• pre-school allowance
Newcomers changing their place of employment receive specific allowances to help them settle if they are recruited outside of the Frankfurt area. The package includes:
• installation allowance
• reimbursement of removal costs
• initial temporary daily subsistence allowance.

Staff has the possibility to do an annual medical check-up with an external medical provider.

EIOPA offers a competitive pension scheme after 10 years of service within the EU public service.

Pension rights acquired before working for an EU body can be transferred in the EU pension system.

EIOPA offers learning and development opportunities, as well as a rewarding career progression with internal and external mobility opportunities.
Education for children
EIOPA’s staff can enrol their children free of charge to the European School. It provides a European curriculum from nursery (4 years old) to the European Baccalaureate, as well as after-school activities and bus transfer organised by the parents’ association. The school offers five language sections (German, English, French, Italian and Spanish) and mother tongue tuition in all EU languages.
