Question

Please can you clarify what is meant by notice period for the subordinated debt? In particular please can you provide explanation as to the use of the date format when completing notice period.

EIOPA answer

In case of incentives of the issuing institution to redeem the subordinated liabilities the details have to be filled respectively in C0130 "Subordinated mutual members' accounts - Details of incentives to redeem" and/or in C0390 -"Subordinated liabilities - Details of incentives to redeem".

The undertakings should treat the item as repaid or redeemed from the date of notice to holders of the item or, if no notice is required, the date of supervisory approval, and exclude the item from own funds from that date. This date is the referred notice period which has to be entered in C0140  and/or in C0400, using ISO8601 format (yyyy-mm-dd).
