Question

Dear EIOPA, in Q&A on Delegated Acts on Jan 2020 (# 1922 ) you pointed out that the Right-of-Use asset relating to the lease of a property would be stressed in Property SCR module. However, there was no info where other type of leases woud be included (eg. vehicles). We are also interested in the application of the SCR for Lease Liability (the counterpart of the Right-of-Use). Could it be used to net down the Right-of-Use asset?

EIOPA answer

The categorisation of the rights-of-use asset follows the underlying asset and the corresponding treatment under Solvency II. It is important to ensure the market-consistent valuation in accordance with Art. 75 of the Solvency II Directive.
