Question
"For the S.06.02, EIOPA Q&A 791, 1411 and 1583 specified that the C0240 Issuer Group (along with C0250 Issuer Group Code and C0260 Type of Issuer Group Code) should be suppressed in the event that the Government bonds report the ultimate parent entity in the C0200 Issuer Name (and C0210 Issuer Code & C0220 Type of Issuer Code).
Does this suppression logic apply to the all the other asset classes too?
We consider the last line EIOPA Q&A 791 which states that ""S.06.02.C0240 should only be filled when the issuer is included in a group relation, or in the specific cases identified for CIC 4, 7 and 8 (other than mortgage and loans to natural persons)."" to indicate that we would need to suppress the Issuer Group, Issuer Group Code & Issuer Group Code Type for all other assets that do not have an ultimate parent entity beyond the level reported in the Issuer Name.
Similarly can we apply this suppression logic to the S.08.01 C0330 Counterparty Group field when the ""Ultimate parent entity"" is already reported in C0260 Counterparty Name?"
EIOPA answer
EIOPA confirms that in case the issuer is not in a group relation or is the ultimate parent entity it is not required to fill the Issuer Group (C0240) and the other related cells (Issuer Group Code & Issuer Group Code Type).
