Biography
Rui Esteves has been Head of Statistics and Non-Life Technical Studies at Fidelidade since 2014 and Board and Executive Committee member of Via Directa, an insurance company of the Fidelidade group, since 2019 with responsibility for Pricing and Underwriting.
Since 2023, he has been co-leader of Fidelidade's Impact Center for Climate Change, a knowledge center to accelerate climate action, both at Fidelidade and in society.
Master in Actuarial Science and Degree in Mathematics Applied to Economics and Management, both from the University of Lisbon.
Before entering the insurance industry in 1998, he was a statistician at the Bank of Portugal. He was also a member of several committees at the Portuguese Association of Insurers, including the Non-Life Technical Committee, the Property Insurance Committee, flood risk mapping working group and the seismic fund working group.
