EIOPA analyses and reports on different consumer protection related topics and practices.
EIOPA regularly launches thematic reviews on consumer protection related issues. The purpose of these reviews is to identify potential sources of consumer detriment and possible actions to ensure better consumer protection.
Once a year, changes in consumer behaviour – including the types of products and services being bought and changes in how well these are working in practice for consumers. Trends include potential new risks for consumer as well as positive developments. The analysis is published in an annual consumer trends reports.
Costs and past performance reports
At the request of the European Commission, EIOPA issues recurrent reports on the cost and past performance of the main categories of retail investment, insurance and pension products.
