Question

According to log file of S.29.03 "C0100-C0110/R0320" and "C0100-C0110/R0330" represents the amount of "claims/benefits" and "expenses" respectively during the period that are not included in Best Estimate. Claims/Benefits and expenses have to be taken into account in Best Estimate so effectively, these cells should be zero. Can you please explain under what sitauations the claims/benefits and expenses cannot be included in best estimate?

EIOPA answer

The amounts to be reported as technical flows should correspond to the technical flows during the year, i.e. not included in the closing best estimate. Should correspond to the claims paid during the year (for all underwriting/accident years) reported as positive if represent a cash-out and expenses related to the year (for all underwriting/accident years) reported as positive if represent a cash-out.
