Question

In the new taxonomy 2.8.0 the cash flow reporting in S.13.01.01.01 shall be subdivided into Future guaranteed benefits (C0051) and Future discretionary benefits (C0055) for Index linked and unit-linked insurance. In unit linked business, for example, there are normally not any guaranteed cash-flows, not either any discretionary benefits. In which column shall the cash flows for ordinary unit-linked business be presented?

Background of the question

Difficulties to decide on which column to put ordinary unit-linked cash flows without guarantees in S.13.01.01.01. Should it be presented in C0051 or in C0055?

EIOPA answer

Only cash flows meeting the definition in Article 1(35) of the Delegated Regulation should be included in C0055 “Future discretionary benefits". Therefore, cash flows from unit-linked products should be reported in C0051 “Future guaranteed benefits".
