In Q&A #2664 the answer is slightly ambiguous because our suggested approach was that a total LoB line was always required in addition to a product line but we asked confirmation on that and the answer was: "If the only product in the LOB is the one reported under the product category, no additional row is required. So the proposed approach is correct." Could EIOPA please confirm if an additional LoB line is required that if the only product in the LoB is the one reported under the product category? We note that the answer to Q&A#2668 implies that a LoB line should always be included: "Therefore, we agree that only rows where C0020 is not reported should be included in calculation." and so we would welcome a confirmation that the answer to 2668 should be updated if additional LoB lines are not always required (because in such cases the S.05.01 reconciliation SHOULD use the row with C0020 reported)
EIOPA answer
Q&A 2664 and Q&A 2668 refers to separate issues. In fact, Q&A 2668 refers to the reconciliation between S.05.01 and S.14.02 while Q&A 2664 refers only to S.14.02. If there are no additional products under the relevant LOB beyond those reported under the relevant product category, EIOPA confirms that only one Row should be filled in as the reporting will also require to indicate the reference LOB. In light of this, if only information on the product category is reported for S.05.01 only this information should be included.
