Question
Regards the updates within 2.8 taxonomy and the associated LOG guidance (in the draft business package supporting SII taxonomy 2.8.0) for the new data point C0145. Can EIOPA please confirm that for CIC 3 and 4 then C0145 must always be either “1 – Yes” or “2 – No” and in all other cases C0145 should be left blank (or option “9 - Not applicable”, but in xbrl terms this is the same thing, given this is represented by the default member of the MC domain).
EIOPA answer
Similarly, to the answer in Q&A 2655, the C0145 has 4 possible options:
1 – Yes (modelled using MCx341 (Long term equity investment))
2 – No (modelled using MC:x342 (Not a long-term equity investment))
9 – Not applicable (modelled using MC:x0 (Total/NA)
Not reported at all (i.e. left empty)
It is important to note that filling x0 will be reflected in the report as <s2md:ei2751 (…)>s2c_XX:x0</s2md:ei275>, while leaving the column empty, will not produce any 'line' in the report file. Therefore, while form business perspective we can say it is equal, form the XBRL view there is notable difference. This is important in particular when we consider some existence checks.
