I'm requiring your assistance in order to clarify EIOPA expectation regarding sign convention for report S.08.01.
Indeed, in this report, field A17 is used to report premium paid / receive (i.e log print screen) and we are wondering if :
-Option 1) Value in field A17 must be reported as absolute value (with no sign)
-Option 2 ) Premium paid must be reported with a - sign and Premium received with a + sign
-Option 3 ) Premium paid must be reported with a + sign and Premium received with a - sign
Same question for field A18 SII Value and A24/A25 Swap delivered / received currency

In fact the columns identified have been split in two columns in the final template (as published in the Final report on public consultation No. 14/052 on the implementing technical standards on the templates for the submission of information to the supervisory authorities), with the two columns being reported as positive values. For the prep. phase, given that the goal is to prepare for Solvency II both values should be reported as positive values.
