Biography
Michael is a pensions partner and UK head of defined contribution (DC) pensions at Eversheds Sutherland. Michael advises trustees, corporates and providers of DC trust-based and contract-based schemes, including several multi-£billion commercial master trusts and large employer-run occupational pension schemes. Recently, Michael spoke at PensionsEurope’s annual conference in April on the payout phase, he contributed to PensionsEurope’s report “Decumulation in Focus: Understanding the Payout Phase”, he co-authored Pensions UK’s report on retirement arrangements and he authored an innovative legal opinion on trustee fiduciary duties and investment in the UK. He sits on the UK Association of Pension Lawyers’ DC Committee, UK Society of Pension Professionals Collective DC Committee and is involved in several initiatives with Pensions UK and The Investing and Saving Alliance.
