The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority today welcomed the heads of EU agencies and joint undertakings to Frankfurt.

The meeting took place in the context of the EU Agencies Network, the forum that brings together all EU agencies and joint undertakings to cooperate on matters of mutual interest. EIOPA is currently chairing this Network.

Over the course of the day, agency heads explored areas for further cooperation in line with the EUAN multi-annual strategy. EIOPA also hosted the heads of human resources and heads of resources in the days preceding this meeting. The ceremony for the EUAN Diversity and Inclusion Awards also took place, recognising initiatives by EU agencies to foster diverse and inclusive workplaces.

EIOPA Executive Director, Fausto Parente said, ‘Bringing together the heads of EU agencies and joint undertakings is an important opportunity to address the challenges and opportunities that are common to us. In this way, we can ensure that agencies remain cost effective while continuing to add value in shaping EU policies and bringing benefits to EU citizens.
