Biography
Saskia van Berloo has been active in youth engagement and empowerment for the last 7 years. She is responsible for the flagship events of the European Youth Parliament: the International Sessions, bringing together 300 young people from 40 countries for 10 days, to discuss the most pressing issues in Europe. The European Youth Parliament elevates youth voices, and this is exactly what Saskia did in 2025, when she oversaw the creation of the publication ‘Young Visions on Retirement in Europe – Suitable, Sustainable, Secure; Good Pensions for All in Europe’. The publication, written by 8 young volunteers from across Europe, posed policy solutions in three big themes: Equity, Employment, and Financial markets and Investment. The publication took the discussions of two groups of young people, and expanded upon it through visits with stakeholders during the European Retirement Week and further research.
