Question
Please can you confirm the CIC code to be applied to loans secured on policies. Should it be CIC 86 (which is loans on policies) or CIC 88 (which is loans to other natural persons).
Background of the question
Question 2753 states that loans secured on policies should be CIC 88 whereas the EIOPA Public Event of 10th October said that CIC 86 should be allocated to loans on policies.
EIOPA answer
Q&A 2753 clarifies that CIC 88 shall apply to loans on policies when they are made to natural persons other than AMSB. As such still the general case for reporting is 86, but when the loan is made to natural persons other than AMSB it is 88.
