Question

Can EIOPA confirm that the spreadsheet link below refers to the latest CIC List? https://register.eiopa.europa.eu/Publications/Consultations/EIOPA-14-052-Annex_IV_V_-_CIC_table.xls

Background of the question

Bloomberg have started issuing "18" CIC Code based on information in this document "EIOPA 2020 Opinion on Solvency II" The new CIC Code "18" definition (as supplied by Bloomberg) is "Government Bonds not denominated in the domestic currency". Is it correct that CIC "18" can be used for Solvency II reporting? If so, when was the start date for using "18".

EIOPA answer

The file you are referring is part of an old public consultation. Currently (EU) 2023/894 - ITS with regard to the templates for the submission of information necessary for supervision and (EU) 2023/895 - ITS for the disclosure of solvency and financial condition report (both applicable as of 31/12/2023) are the official documents to be used. They were published on EIOPA’s website after they were officially published by the European Commission: Supervisory reporting - DPM and XBRL - European Union (europa.eu)
