Biography
Michael Thiel is senior expert in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union. He deals with cross-cutting issues related to policy design, economic analysis and the develop the indicators for monitoring purposes. He has worked on financial research and impact assessments for various legislative policy proposals and has been involved in legislative negotiations. Before his current job, he worked on macroeconomics, structural reforms, financial stability, and financial systems for the European Commission. He obtained a doctoral degree from Goethe University Frankfurt.
