Biography
Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in Business Engineering, Henk Becquaert has been a member of the Belgian Federal Planning Bureau and has worked on the staff of several ministers. In 2005 he joined the CBFA, which was reorganized and renamed the FSMA as from 1 April 2011.
From 2 May 2014 to 25 May 2021 he was responsible for the operational supervision of financial products and pensions, for IT services and for Facilities & Infrastructure. From 26 May 2021 to 6 March 2022 he was in charge of the operational supervision of insurance, intermediaries and pensions.
Since 7 March 2022 he is responsible for the operational supervision of pensions and insurance, for IT services and also for facilities and infrastructure. From 2012 he is Chairman of the Second Pillar Pension Commission for employees (social partners, pension institutions and experts) And from 2014 he is also Member of EIOPA Board of Supervisors.
