EIOPA can issue opinions to national competent authorities (NCAs) to address a lack of convergence on supervisory practices which are due to different interpretations of the regulatory framework.
Opinions aim at building a common supervisory culture and consistent supervisory practices, as well as in ensuring uniform procedures and consistent approaches throughout the Union. EIOPA can issue opinions to NCAs according to Article 29(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) No 1094/2010 (EIOPA Regulation).
