Biography
Damian Jaworski is a Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. He joined the PFSA in 2009 and held numerous senior executive positions being responsible for international cooperation, analyses and regulation.
At EIOPA he is a member of the Board of Supervisors and in the past he also was the Chair of the Review Panel, member of the Management Board as well as Mediation, Breach of Union Law and Inquiry Panels. He is also extensively engaged at global international level. He is the PFSA representative at International Association of Insurance Supervisors. In the past he was a member of the Executive Committee, vice chair of the Audit and Risk Committee as well as Regional Coordinator for the CEET Region. Damian Jaworski is also deeply engaged in assisting EU candidate countries.
Currently he is leading a twinning project for Ukraine aimed at strengthening of the supervisory capacity of the National Bank of Ukraine in the scope of non-bank financial institutions. Before joining the KNF Damian Jaworski spent five years in the Foreign Service where he worked as financial attaché in the Permanent Representation of Poland to the EU in Brussels. He started his professional career at the Finance Ministry. In that capacity he was inter alia coordinating Poland’s EU accession negotiations in the field of financial services.
On 17 December 2025 the European Parliament confirmed the appointment of Damian Jaworski as the next Executive Director of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA).
