Biography

Sarah Goddard is the Secretary General of AMICE (the Association of Mutual Insurers and Insurance Cooperatives in Europe), a Brussels-based representative and advocacy body for the mutual and cooperative insurance industry across Europe which represents approximately 30% of insurance premiums in the region.

She is a board member of Social Economy Europe and sits on the European Commission's Climate Resilience Dialogue, as well as representing the sector in numerous bodies. AMICE advocates for the fair and appropriate treatment of mutual and cooperative insurers at European level, in particular relating to new and evolving legislation including insurance regulation such as Solvency II. AMICE focusses on informing and engaging on the mutual/cooperative insurance legal form, and the importance of ensuring that the diversity of insurance players is prioritised to provide competitiveness and stability for policyholders and the wider economy.
