Question
In 2022 a Climate stress test for the occupational pensions sector was published. We would like to apply the stress test yearly, but it seems impossible to find updated stress parameters. Could you please provide us (and the entire insurance sector) with updated stress parameters?
EIOPA answer
This question has been rejected because it does not relate to the consistent and effective application of the legal framework covered by this Q&A process.
EIOPA runs its bottom-up stress test exercises in cooperation with the ESRB.
Scenario are defined for each exercise based on the actual and foreseen risks at the time of launch of the exercise.
Narrative, shocks and their calibration are defined by EIOPA, ERSB and ECB. The calibration of the shocks contained in the 2022 exercise is based on the NiGEM model with input from REMIND-MAgPIE. The details are available in the note “Climate scenario for the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority’s EU-wide pension fund stress test in 2022” available here.
Being scenarios and shocks specific for each exercise, EIOPA do not regularly update the calibration of the shocks therein.
