Biography
Casper van Ewijk is professor emeritus in economics at the University of Amsterdam and Tilburg University, and currently affiliated with Netspar, Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement. Since 2020 he is researcher at Netspar, and member of various advisory committees on pensions for the Dutch government, social partners and pension funds. In 2023 joined as a member of the Occupational Pensions Stakeholder Group (OPSG) of EIOPA.
He is an expert in pension economics and public finance, working on ageing and pensions from 1998 onwards. He has been member of the Social Economic Council (SER) preparing the current pension reform and the design of new DC pension contracts in the Netherlands, and participated in several committees elaborating this reform.
