Question

In consolidation method, Group MCR being a function of MCR at solo level (as the sum), is the "undertaking" reference a "solo net of intra-group" or "solo gross of intra-group" ?

EIOPA answer

Minimum consolidated group SCR should be calculated as the simple sum of MCR of the participating insurance or reinsurance undertaking and the proportional shares of MCR of related insurance and insurance undertakings, which means it should be “gross of intra-group transactions”. For further details of calculation the floor of the group SCR please refer to guidelines 21 and 22 of EIOPA Guidelines on group solvency.
