Question

Regarding C0140 - Issuer Name regarding CIC category 4. In the guidance it says "the issuer name is the name of the fund manager". Very often there is an investment manager of the fund that is not the same company as the fund manager, often the "brand name" of the fund is the same as the name of the investment manager. Example: GQG Partners Global Equity Select Fund. Investment Manager is GQG Partners, The Manager is Bridge Fund Management. Should Issuer be Bridge Fund Management?

Background of the question

Understanding the meaning of Issuer Name (C0140) and Issuer Code (C0150)

EIOPA answer

Yes, based on the guidance that " the issuer code is the code of the fund manager (entity). The authorised management company who can and is responsible for managing the fund is the one to be reported regardless of whether some activities have been outsourced, including the actual management of the portfolio, i.e. the decision on buying/selling;", the issuer should be Bridge Fund Management Limited because it is the designated fund manager of the GQG Partners Global Equity Select Fund.
