Question

We understand from your response to Q&A 1859 that we should continue to suppress Issuer Group in the S.06.02 QRT where the Issuer reported in C0200 is already the ultimate parent entity for all relevant CICs (and not just bonds).

Please can you clarify that this approach to suppress the group entity is NOT required for the S.08.01 QRT and that the C0330 Counterparty Group and C0340 Counterparty Group Code fields should instead be populated regardless of what is reported in the C0260 Counterparty Name and C0270 Counterparty Code fields?

EIOPA answer

According to Q&A 1859 "in case the issuer is not in a group relation or is the ultimate parent entity it is not required to fill the "Issuer Group" (C0240) and the other related cell "Issuer Group Code & Issuer Group Code Type" (C0250).

Against this background:
As already explained in Q&A 791, S.06.02.C0240 should only be filled when the issuer is included in a group relation, or in the specific cases identified for CIC 4, 7 and 8 (other than mortgage and loans to natural persons ). So where the Issuer reported in C0200 is already the ultimate parent entity it has not to be reported again in C0240 and C0250;

Consistently, the same approach should be used in S.08.01. "Counterparty Group" (C0330) should not be populated where "Counterparty Name" (C0260) is already the ultimate parent entity.
