After reading EIOPA’s answer to question #767 on QRT S.14.01 I’m still not clear. If a reinsurer has 1 reinsurance contract with a cedant, and there are 100 contracts between the cedant and policyholders covered by that reinsurance contract – how many contracts should the reinsurer report on this QRT? Should it be (a) 100, or (b) 1?
EIOPA answer
In the case given the reinsurer should report 1 contract. The sentence from 767 should be read: "In the case referred the information regarding the number of contracts should relate to the reinsurance contracts originating the technical provision in the reinsurer balance-sheet.
