Question

(EU) No 2015/2450 number 778, question 9 asked whether S.31.01 Field C0100 is the sum of fields C0060, C0070, C0080, C0090. EIOPA answered C0100 should equal to C0060 + C0070 + C0080 + C0090 + Non-Life TP calculated as a whole (which is not a separately required field in the QRT). We believe Non-Life TP calculated as a whole equals to C0060 (claim provision) + C0060 (premium provision) so if adding Non-Life TP calculated as a whole again onto C0100, C0100 will be double counted. Please can you confirm?

EIOPA answer

EIOPA confirms the answer provided under Q&A 778. When in the reporting framework references are made to 'claims provisions' or to 'premium provisions' this is not deemed to include the amounts of Non-Life Technical provisions calculated as a whole. The structure of template S.17.01 could support the understanding of our approach. The total of gross Non-Life technical provisions are as follows, using template S.17.01:

◦R0010: Technical provisions calculated as a whole
◦R0060: Best estimate – Premiums provisions
◦R0160: Best estimate – Claims provisions
◦R0280: Risk margin
◦R0290 to R0310: Amount of the transitional on Technical Provisions
